How Simpluna thinks
The principles behind the relationship Simpluna aims to have with its users.
Why we only offer one-time purchases
Every paid option in Simpluna is a one-time purchase. There are no monthly or annual subscriptions. This is not a temporary policy. It is a choice that shapes the design of the app itself.
No ongoing monthly payment
A subscription continues to charge until it is canceled. Simpluna decided that continuing to charge during periods when it is not used does not fit the kind of tool we want it to be.
Period tracking is not something everyone needs to engage with every day. It is natural to have times when health or daily life means nothing is recorded. Even if the app is not opened for several months, there should be no payment to worry about and no reason to feel guilty.
With a one-time purchase, the payment ends there. There is no cancellation to manage, no cost for an unused month, and no concern about a future price increase.
No reason to make the app heavier
If Simpluna used recurring payments, we would need to create reasons for people to keep paying every month. Our development decisions would likely have shifted toward adding features, notifications, and exclusive elements designed to make people open the app.
Simpluna does not need that incentive. A one-time purchase lets us make decisions based on whether something is useful as a tool, not whether it keeps people engaged. This supports our choice not to add articles, diagnoses, or lifestyle advice unrelated to recording and predictions.
An app that costs nothing when left unopened
Simpluna aims to be a tool you open only when needed, to record and check your cycle. You do not need to open it every day or enter detailed information.
Basic recording and predictions remain available for free. If you need an additional feature, you can add Simpluna Plus, cloud backup, or another option with a single payment. We will not make the free experience less useful later to pressure people into buying.
We will continue in this form.
